The survey was completed by FrenchEntrée’s website users who are actively looking for property in France and the most popular regions were Brittany and Limousin with 9% each of survey respondents, while Poitou-Charentes 8%, Languedoc-Roussillon 7% and Aquitaine 6% made up the top five regions of France. The other regions of France were less popular and due to France’s sheer size and diversity 37% of respondents are still undecided upon which region to concentrate their French Property searches. The areas of Brittany, Limousin and Poitou-Charentes are all easily accessible from the UK by ferry ports and an ever increasing number of regional airports so it is no surprise to see these three areas rank as the top areas of France for UK and Irish residents looking to purchase their new French Property.

From the total surveyed, 57% of the respondents are looking to move permanently and the remaining 43% are looking to buy a French holiday home with the most common price range for French house hunters being the 100,000 Euros to 200,000 Euros price range with 34%, the second most popular price range is the less than 100,000 Euros price range with 22%, closely followed by the 200,000 to 300,000 Euros price range with 19% of all respondents.
